Dr. Sam Batzli


Dr. Batzli is a geographer with expertise in the integration of GIS, remote sensing, and land use modeling. His research focuses on the development of visualization and data discovery technologies for Earth science information. Batzli developed the ArcSDE database and associated ArcIMS systems at the Environmental Remote Sensing Center. He is also the coordinator for WisconsinView.org -- a statewide satellite data distribution and education program. Prior to joining the University of Wisconsin in 2002, he served as the Upper Great Lakes - Regional Earth Science Applications Center (RESAC) project manager for Michigan State University.
