2.5 Agricultural Shoreland Management Ordinances
Counties, cities, villages, and towns may adopt agricultural shoreland management ordinances. (
26) These ordinances are different from the shoreland zoning ordinances administered by the DNR. The ordinances are intended to maintain and improve surface water quality in the context or agricultural operations. The ordinances must be reviewed and approved by DATCP before they can be enacted by a local community. A county ordinance does not apply in towns which have enacted an ordinance.
