2.14 Intergovernmental Agreements
Any municipality may contract with other municipalities to receive or furnish services or jointly exercise power or duties required or authorized by law.
(97) The term "municipality" is defined to include the State, counties, cities villages, towns, school districts, sanitary districts, public library systems, regional planning commissions, and other governmental and quasi-governmental entities. The requirements and procedures set forth for intergovernmental agreements are minimal. Such arrangements can prove useful in the implementation of a plan by facilitating efficient provision of public facilities and services._______________________
