Land use activities can have a significant impact on the water quality of Wisconsin’s lakes, rivers, and wetlands. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources administers a number of grant programs to fund local water-related planning activities and provides other types of planning assistance to local governments. These programs include shoreland protection (50), and lake management and classification. (51)
