The USGS digital land cover file for the 1:100,000 LaCrosse quadrangle was obtained via anonymous ftp from the USGS public access server. The file was converted from GIRAS format to ARC/INFO and projected to WTM. The land use/land cover classification was performed in the mid to late 1970s using the Anderson classification system. Class definitions are not available within the database, but are listed in the following table. The file LULUT was developed for display purposes.
