The U.S. Census Bureau's TIGER files (available at LICGF) were accessed to create this data set. The MCDS coverage contains only those portions of minor civil divisions (villages and towns) lying with the watershed boundary. The name of the minor civil division was manually edited and is stored as the NAME item in the .pat file. The mcd names are also stored as annotation, except where only small portions of towns are within the watershed.

Additional attribute data was added to the coverage from information provided by Alan Anderson of UW-Extension. The items POP90 and INC-PER-CAP present the population of the entire minor civil division and the income per capita in 1990, respectively. The source of Mr. Anderson's data is unknown.
