Rates for use of equipment based on cost of acquisition and maintenance over expected life (at 2000 hours/year), plus software licenses.
Notes:
* Data conversion costs are usually low, since no time is spent pre- or post- processing. Existing digital maps or graphic files can usually be converted with less than 1/2 hour of staff or student time.
** Making maps can be a very time-consuming process. Custom E-sized maps (3' by 4') combining graphics and text from many layers can take from 10 to 100 hours of skilled labor. Some maps can be made using ArcGIS, to a B&W laser printer, and these can usually be done in a few hours at most.
